Spanish food manufacturer Goya Europa SLU has recalled its “Goya Queso Latino” cream cheese due to possible health risks. This is sold in Lidl, among others.
The 325 gram pack sold by discount retailer Lidl in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin and Brandenburg is affected, the company announced on Monday. However, the alert only applies to lot number 061322 with a best before date of June 27, 2022 and identification number ES 15.00283/P CE.
A serious course of the disease is possible
In the article, therefore, the bacterial germ Listeria monocytogenes was discovered, which can cause serious diseases of the stomach and intestines. It was said that infants, small children, pregnant women, as well as old and sick people could develop serious diseases. Customers should therefore not consume the affected product.
According to information, Lidl has already withdrawn cream cheese from sale. The item can be returned to any Lidl store. The purchase price will be returned even without presenting the invoice, the company points out.
